Deborah Salomon recently consigned a number of new collages to the gallery. This is what Deborah says about her work:

My collages are two dimensional compositions of deconstructed, printed paper.  Using an intuitive and experimental process, I assemble and compose the pieces of paper into a new abstract arrangement. The paper is cut from pages of old, discarded books, type, letters and prints.   Each composition consists of many small strips and shapes, which are sometimes drawn, painted, and then formed into abstract, repetitive constructions.

I create a new, visual language composed of parts and pieces of printed words, fonts, and sentences assembled into a structure of visual forms.  The language is a form of mark making.  Printed language forms the basis of my constructions.  Letters, words and sentences are deconstructed and reconstructed into a new, visual, meditative language.
